How To Make A Pinch Pot

We’ve made pinch pots before, but we thought it would be fun to learn how to make a pinch pot again. Especially since this is going to be the first step in another sculpting lesson we’re going to do next week!

For this project you can use any clay, we used Model Magic from Crayola. You can pick it up at any craft or art store, or from Amazon.

During this lesson I didn’t have the patiences to wait for the pots or paint to dry. You can extend this project over a couple days and let it dry before moving onto the next step. There’s two big differences between waiting and not wanting:

  • It’s messy and a little more challenging to work with a pot that’s still soft.
  • The paint will crack when everything does finally dry, which I think actually looks cool 🙂

We hope you have a lot of fun making these pots with us!
