Happy Memorial Day art friends! Today is the day set aside to honor those men and woman who have lost their lives in the service of our country. We, as a family, also have a tradition to visit our grandparent’s graves and leave them flowers. Because of that we thought it would be fun to […]

Sorry for the short break in posting last week! I was out of town with limited internet. At any rate, we’re back! Here’s how to draw a duck. When you watch the short YouTube video, you’ll notice that Chucker’s duck could use a little practice. I personally love it when my kid’s drawings turn out […]

Well it’s finally starting to feel a little bit like Spring around here. Here’s a few steps on how to draw Spring! I did this activity with my little Hads, so we drew a little girl jumping in a rain puddle. If you’d like to draw a boy instead, simply draw shorter hair and shorts […]
Our how to draw a lizard, kind of ended up like a Gecko. Though, I think the tail is probably to long to actually be a Gecko…so we’re just calling him a Lizard. Do you have a pet lizard? We’re thinking about getting one. Is there a particular kind you’d recommend? Watch How To Draw […]
We recently visited our local zoo and spent some time with our neighborhood giraffes. They are crazy animals in real life! I was amazed just watching them walk and eat. My little Hads laughed her head off, watching one of them lick the wall…not sure why it was doing it, but it was pretty funny. […]
I know I’ve said this before on other lessons, but this is another one of my favorites. When your kids are learning how to draw a squid challenge them to try and fill the page. Also remind them that they can draw the tentacles or arms any way they want. Watch How To Draw A […]

How to draw a crab was fun, but they sure are weird animals! The have really cool exoskeletons and super big pinchers. I’ve always thought of them as looking very similar to spiders. Chuckers asked me if they were related, so I had to do some searching. The only thing I could find in relation, […]
Look out it’s how to draw a shark! This guy is mean and fierce, even if he’s a little cartoonish. I have a quick question: Do your kids prefer drawing cartoonish, realistic, both, or doesn’t matter? Watch How To Draw A Shark

I kept Chuckers up late last night to work on this one. I feel bad I showed him how to draw a rabbit and not Hads. Don’t worry though I’ll show her today 🙂 This lesson should be easy enough for the younger artists, and fun enough for the old ones. We’d love to see […]
Halloween is coming, teach your kids how to draw a skull! We couldn’t wait to pull out our masks, in fact we had to run to Target and buy a few more. What are your kids going to dress up as for Halloween? We almost convinced Hads that she should be a gorilla princess, she […]
We’ve got to do more how to draw a robot posts! Chuckers loved it, and robots can be drawn so many different ways. This particular robot is a great way to focus on drawing squares and rectangles. If your child is younger, spend a little extra time explaining the difference between a square and rectangle. […]

Bees are not exactly a family favorite around here. Last summer, Chuckers went to check the mailbox and on his way back to the house a bee stung him right on the side of the neck. He came running into the house yelling, “I got stung! I got stung!” Mom and Hads came to the […]
